Alcatraz Special Swims

This is a part of our Alcatraz crossing series for those that are ready for a swim at any time. Be sure to meet 45 minutes before jump time. Bring 2 towels, warm clothes for on the boat and afterwards, have your wetsuit on in boat and be ready to jump. Bring your swim gear (cap, earplugs, goggles, etc.) and warm tea or drink in thermos for after. We will swim in 2 groups. Groups must stick together.

Description	Chile Relief and Development On February 27, a magnitude 8.8 earthquake occurred in central Chile, about 56 miles northeast of the city of Concepción. The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Chilean Red Cross, to assist those affected by this disaster. Your entry to this Swim will help in part the American Red Cross and also we will adopt an agency that is collecting funds to rebuild the Island Juan Fernandez infrastructure, to build schools and the most needed. This will support emergency relief and recovery efforts to help those people affected by the earthquake in Chile. Assistance provided by the American Red Cross together with the Chilean Red Cross may include deploying personnel, sending relief supplies, and providing financial resources. COME AND SWIM FOR THIS CAUSE: SATURDAY APRIL 3, 2010 Meet at Hyde Street Pier Time Meet 7:00 a.m. Swim 8:00 a.m. Alcatraz to Aquatic Park Register as soon as possible
